Download and use the Stop Finder App for improved and reliable GPS tracking.

How do I get the app?

Parents must enroll in the SchoolMax parent portal to receive an invitation to activate the app once downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. Families must have an up-to-date email address in SchoolMax or Synergy (new for 2024-25 school year) to activate the subscription. If a family's email address in SchoolMax or Synergy is not current, the app will not work as the student schedule will not populate.

How do I view where the bus is in real-time on the app?

PGCPS is using the StopFinder mobile app to allow parents, guardians and caregivers to view information about their child’s bus schedule and where a child’s bus is and to receive notifications about where the bus is.

Some features of the app include:

  • View student bus schedules
  • Set up alerts along a child’s route to view bus location
  • Receive notifications of when the bus has arrived at its destination, or if the bus will be delayed
  • Parents and guardians with more than one bus rider can track multiple buses

How do I set up alerts in the app?

Please note that parents and guardians must set up a geo alert within the app to receive notifications about where the bus is and when it is near. Instructions on how to set up a geoalert can be found in StopFinder ‘how-to’ videos.

The StopFinder app has not worked for me in the past. What will be different?

As we work to streamline bus service, improve efficiency and eliminate double runs, reliability of the StopFinder app for real-time, accurate information will improve. To note, doubled runs cannot be tracked in the app.

When I have called the transportation team for help in the past, I did not receive useful information. What will be different?

Customer service and providing timely information is our priority. Improvements in efficiency to our transportation service will better equip our phone bank team to provide accurate information on your bus route. Families can expect to notice improvements in customer service for the 2024-25 school year.
