Greetings Parents, Guardians and Students,

Welcome to the Gwynn Park High School's new website.  GPHS is located at the southern end of Prince George's County in Brandywine, Maryland.  Most of the families have several generations of students who have graduated from GPHS.  However, our community is growing due to new housing developments.  Our school enrollment is currently 1,254 students. The student body consists of African Americans (86%), Caucasians (9%), Latinos (2%), and Asian Americans (1%). 

Gwynn Park High School offers a rigorous curriculum linked to diverse, performance-based and student-centered programs for college bound and school-to-career students.  The Comprehensive Instructional Program offers courses in mathematics, science, English, foreign language, and social studies. We offer advanced placement courses in all instructional program areas.  In addition to a core curriculum, Gwynn Park High School offers Career Technical Education which includes technical training in auto mechanics, printing, cosmetology, and hospitality management.

The vision for the school is to provide a quality, instructional program which allows all students to be successful and lifelong learners.  Thus, we have adapted the motto of "Working together to ensure student success."  In addition, we have aligned our goals and initiatives with the Quality Schools Program Strategic Plan (QSPSP) and the county's five core beliefs.

As you browse our website, we encourage you to take advantage of the variety of opportunities offered to the students and families of GPHS.  Utilizing these resources will assist you in supporting and teaching your young adult to be an active partner in his/her education.
