"The role of the Parent Liaison is to provide services to facilitate improved parental involvement, communication and collaboration between school staff and families of students in order to enhance student achievement and psycho-social development.
The Parent Liaison works with parents to help them demonstrate an improved understanding of school policies, procedures and educational requirements; interpret or facilitate interpretation for school conferences and Special Education meetings when necessary. Empower parents to navigate and interface frequently with appropriate officials of county, state and national governmental agencies as well as community organizations and school personnel to address the educational, health, economic and social needs of their children. Create strategies and incentives to increase parent/community attendance at all meetings and workshops that are scheduled for parental engagement. The Parent Liaison also makes periodic home visits regarding attendance, emergency family needs and crisis situations in conjunction with the school counselor and the Pupil Personnel Worker"
