ABSTRACT: The project that I investigated was: Is there a relationship between the top five cancer incidents for countries and their ecological footprint? My hypothesis was: If the country has a big ecological footprint then the top five cancer incidents should be the same. I based my hypothesis on information found on the NCI website that states that people are at more risks for certain types of cancer based on diet. I know that countries that have big ecological footprints are industrialized and have different dietary habits than countries that are still developing. The only materials I used for this project was a computer and excel. I went to several websites to get all of my information. One website I used gave me the top ten cancer incidence for men and women in the USA and these cancers are what I used as a benchmark for the countries with the big ecological footprints. Another website was where I got my information on the top countries with the biggest ecological footprints. The last website I used was where I found data on cancers in each of the countries I found to be in the top ten ecological footprints. With this data I used the online program to compare the countries and each of the top five cancers for each men and women. I found from my data analysis that countries with big ecological footprints will have the same top five cancers, but the order of the top 5 cancers will vary from country to country.
