Our Mission Statement

The mission of the Student Affairs/Safe & Drug-Free Schools Office is to ensure that all students acquire the knowledge and develop the skills that will assist them in living safe and responsible lives and to become productive members of society.  This mission is best accomplished when there is effective collaboration among students, school personnel, parents, county agencies and community organizations.

This office plans and implements a comprehensive, sequential substance abuse prevention curriculum from pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. They work with the community regarding violence and drug problems and provide training regarding drugs and violence. This office monitors school policy on the use, possession, and distribution of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. They assess the severity of students’ alcohol and drug involvement and refer to counseling and treatment, as needed. This office also collaborates with State, Regional, and County agencies regarding substance abuse issues and violence-related issues.
