Mission
The mission of the Department
of School Improvement and Accountability is
to coordinate all facets of school
improvement planning in Prince George's
County Public Schools by consolidating
federal, state, and local school improvement
planning processes; implementing and
institutionalizing the Maryland State
Department of Education Ten Step Process for
School Improvement; and monitoring and
reporting progress of school improvement
initiatives identified in the Quality
Schools Program Strategic Plan.
Goals and
Objectives

To
provide coordination and leadership to
all schools in the development of school
improvement planning.

provide systemic coordination and
leadership in compliance and submission
requirements for schools identified for
school improvement under No Child
Left Behind.

To train
and assist schools in meeting
established requirements.

To
monitor and oversee the alignment of
school-based funds with school
improvement priorities.

To
coordinate and conduct curriculum audits
for schools in improvement.

To
collaborate with central and regional
offices in support of school improvement
planning efforts.

To
monitor and report progress of school
improvement initiatives to ensure
alignment with the Quality Schools
Program Strategic Plan (QSPSP), COMAR
Regulations, and No Child Left Behind
legislation.

DIRECTIONS TO OUR OFFICE:
Exit Beltway
at Indian Head Highway/Rt. 210, South,
towards Indian Head. Continue on Indian
Head Highway for approximately 2 miles to
3rd traffic light and turn left onto
Livingston Road. Continue on Livingston
Road and take 1st left, which is the
Center's driveway, located between the
Southminster Presbyterian Church and Oxon
Hill Elementary School. Continue on
driveway to Center at the bottom of hill.
