COVID-19 Quarantine and Isolation Guidelines

Isolate if you test positive for COVID-19

All persons who test positive for COVID-19 should:

  • Stay home for at least 5 full days from the symptom onset date if symptomatic or the date of the positive test if there are no symptoms. Day 0 = Date positive test was performed or start of symptoms.
  • On Day 6, if there are no symptoms or symptoms have resolved including no fever for at least 24 hours without medication, students or staff may return to school.

Persons MUST wear a well-fitting mask correctly and consistently at all times for 5 additional days unless eating. If the person is unable to wear a well-fitting mask correctly and consistently at all times, they should stay home for 10 full days from the symptom onset date if symptomatic or the date of the positive test if no symptoms.

Persons who test positive are immediately removed from their setting and sent home. Notification is sent to those who may potentially be impacted including those in the same classroom, bus, and/or office space to self- monitor. Persons, student or staff member, may not return to school if symptoms are not improving and/or fever has not been resolved for 24 hours without medication.

These guidelines do not apply to people with severe COVID-19 or with weakened immune systems.
