Elizabeth Faison, Associate Superintendent of Student Services

About Dr. Elizabeth Faison

Elizabeth L. Faison is the Associate Superintendent of Student Services in Prince George’s County Public Schools where she provides oversight to over 460 employees who implement services such as School Counseling, College Readiness, Psychological Services, School Health (Nurses), International Student Admissions and Enrollment, Home and Hospital Teaching, McKinney Vento Programs, Home Schooling, Student Records, Transfers, and Archival Services, Student Engagement and School Support (substance abuse services), Mental Health, Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports, Restorative Approaches and IDEA Section 504 Services.

She has served students and parents as a counselor, counselor supervisor and administrator for 29 years in a variety of school settings to include Bertie County, NC, Prince William County, VA, Washington, DC and Prince George’s County, MD. She holds a BS in Sociology/Social Work from Elizabeth City State University, a Master’s of Education in Counseling from East Carolina University and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Regent University. Elizabeth (Liz) was born in Fort Hood, Texas and primarily reared in Ahoskie, NC as the oldest of ten children.  She has been a Prince George’s County resident for over 22 years and currently resides in Accokeek, Maryland.

She is a National Certified Counselor (NCC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), is the CEO of Hope Infusion Transformational Services, Inc. She maintains professional memberships in organizations such as the American Counseling Association (ACA), American School Counselor Association (ASCA) and Maryland School Counselor's Association (MSCA). She was awarded the Maryland School Counselor Association Advocate of the Year in 2020 and was an e-School News finalist for the K-12 Hero Award. She in October of 2023, she received the Leadership in Education Award from the Prince George’s County Democratic Central Committee for her achievements in mental and behavioral health.

Her proudest accomplishment is being the mother of one dynamic son, Christian Sessoms, who graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA and recently received his Masters in Global Entertainment and Music Business from Berklee College of Music in Valencia, Spain. She is resolute in her belief that the only reason we collectively exist in the public school setting is to serve children and keeps the main thing, the main thing!
