• Enrichment Packet Parent Letter

Carta del padre | Lettre des parents

    Dear Parents/Guardians:

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Academic Programs, previously developed several winter, spring, and summer break homework packets (Grades K-12) as part of our program to support outstanding academic achievement for students. This initiative provided support for the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) and High School Assessments (HSA).

Beginning December 1, 2017, we will launch a new effort to provide this support for parents and students to be used all year. Student break packets and answer keys will be posted as a resource on our website and will remain posted all year. They can be accessed through a tab on the main PGCPS webpage labeled, Student Enrichment Packets. While we encourage parents to have their students complete the packets for additional practice in the content areas for their grade level, we are not requiring teachers provide feedback on the completion of these activities or provide extra credit for work done. Attached to this letter is a list of the packets available and Frequently Asked Questions for additional information.

If you need further clarification or have questions, please contact Dr. Judith J. White, Director of Academic Programs, at break.packet@pgcps.org.

Thank you for partnering with us in your child’s education!

    Sincerely,

    Monica Goldson, Ed.D.
Deputy Superintendent for Teaching and Learning
