Families are encouraged to use their best judgment if travel conditions are unsafe. Absences will be excused, and students will be supported in making up any missed work.

Some road and sidewalk conditions may persist. Families whose students typically walk to school should assess routes carefully and consider providing transportation if needed. If you are unable to provide transportation, your child should stay home and the absence will be excused with a note.

Transportation Updates

• If a bus cannot access your road or stop, the Transportation team will notify you via email and/or text message. Please monitor your messages closely.
• There will be no work-study transportation; those students should not report to school.
• Vendor-managed care programs will open at 9:00 a.m.

• There will be no half-day Early Childhood Center (ECC), half-day Special Education programs, or half-day PreK.
• Programs requiring transportation prior to 12 noon will not operate, including Howard B. Owens Science Center, JA Finance Park, and William S. Schmidt Center (Camp Schmidt).
• All field trips are canceled.
• Breakfast will be served.
• Athletic practices will continue; however, there will be no athletic contests except the state indoor track meets for Gwynn Park and Frederick Douglass High Schools.
• Facility use resumes as scheduled.
