     Dear Parent/Guardians,

We are geared-up for another exciting year here at Andrew Jackson Middle School. I am happy to return as the Parent Liaison for Andrew Jackson. The School Based Parent Liaison is a new and interactive way for Prince George’s County Schools to empower the schools and parents.  It was created by the school board to provide services to facilitate families of students in order to enhance student achievement and development.  I will, under the supervision of the school principal, Mr. Nathaniel Laney develop and implement a plan to foster families’ participation in training and educational opportunities to support the social and academic achievement of their children.  Please make me your first point of contact whenever possible regarding your needs and concerns for your children.  You are the primary educator of your children.  We are looking forward to meeting & working with each one of you.  This year will only be successful if you stay involved.

Helen Jackson,

Parent Liaison

JAGUAR PARENT’S PLEDGE

As your parent, I will set a good example for you, my child.

I will show you that I love you every day through words and affection.

I will listen to you and let you know that I hear what you say.

I will praise your efforts towards your accomplishments.

I will have realistic expectations for you.

I will avoid being too critical by focusing on your shortcomings.

I will encourage you to meet new challenges and have new experiences.

I will respect you as an individual, however,

I will guide you with my wisdom,

praying that you won’t succumb to or repeat mistakes.

I will make time to share your interests and appreciate you.

I love you unconditionally,

AND I want you to know that you are a loveable, worthwhile and valuable human being.
