Mission Statement

To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before government bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children;
To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children; and
To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.

Who can participate in the Talent Show?

Any student or group of students currently registered at Buck Lodge Middle School
Buck Lodge Middle School teachers
Buck Lodge Middle School administrative staff

What kinds of acts?

All kinds! Musicians, singers, dancers, rappers, magicians, jugglers, comedians, mimes, actors, poets, etc. It’s your chance to be creative and show the Buck Lodge community your hidden talents.

Which acts are selected?

All acts that audition on the audition date and are appropriate in content and staging for our family audience.

What are the specific requirements?

Each act must be between 3-5 minutes.
Dance acts must be choreographed.
Each act, including song lyrics, movements and clothing, must be appropriate for all members of the family (appropriateness will be determined solely by the Talent Show Committee).
All music should be burned on a CD or tape.
You must provide the lyrics to your recorded music at the time of audition.
All acts must attend the audition and dress rehearsal.
Available equipment: microphone and CD player.

Tickets

$10 – per adult

$5 – per child/student over 10 years old

Talent show volunteers and participants do not have to purchase a ticket to attend the show. All attendees also receive a complimentary 08-09 PTSA membership.

Volunteering

A show of this magnitude requires a lot of work. If you volunteer, you save yourself the price of admission. If you would like to help please contact Suzanne Washington- 301-445-6555 or sgwashington_udc@hotmail.com .
