Math Facts

Math facts should be studied by every student for 15 minutes each day so that they can pass their grade level Math Facts Tests.

If you want to see how your child is doing, stop by the Math Facts bulletin board outside Mr. Daniel’s office. Our goal this year is to have as many students as possible pass all 4 Math Facts Tests by December 1. Third graders will have difficulty with their multiplication and division facts since this is the first year they take these tests. Third graders should spend extra time studying these facts.

Congratulations to the following students in second through sixth grade who have passed ALL 4 Math Fact Tests by December 1.  Because we are following a faster paced Math Curriculum Framework this year, it is extremely important that ALL students in second through sixth grade pass their math fact tests by March 1, 2004.  By spending 15 minutes a night using flash cards, playing math games, and/or identifying patterns students should be able to learn their facts.  Knowing math facts will make it much easier for students to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.  It will help when students work with fractions as well as decimal numbers.
