School History: Named after Charles Scott Carroll, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, this school was established in a new housing development in 1959. The school is currently home to over 1,000 students who come from 5 communities and 14 countries.

 

Uniform Policy: Uniforms are mandatory. All students must wear a collared shirt (GREEN- 7th grade, WHITE- 8th grade), khaki pants, a belt, socks, and shoes. Shoes or sneakers must be brown or black. Non-compliance with this policy could lead to a student's dismissal from our school.  Uniform Policy

 

Computer and Acceptable Use Policy: Our school has just updated our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and publicity release  forms. These forms are found in the Student Agenda Books and must be signed in order for a student to use any technology in the building.

Visitor Policy: We welcome visitors to Charles Carroll MS. All visitors must sign in at the front office, present ID and receive a visitor's badge. 

 

Dismissal Procedures:

Classes are dismissed at 3:10 pm. Walkers are released first and leave via the BACK of the school. Bus riders are to go directly to their buses. Students are not allowed to leave the school property and then return to get on their bus. If a student is removed from a bus, the student will have to find alternative transportation during their suspension.

 

Early Dismissal: Students should notify the front office in writing if they are going to be dismissed early. Early dismissal will not be allowed after 2:45pm.

 

 

Lunches: Lunch is served between 10:25- 12:55 every day. Our cafeteria follows the county menu. Students in In-School Suspension will receive a bag lunch.

 

 

Scheduling: Classes are 60 minutes this year. Students attend Science, Language Arts, Math, and Social Studies classes every day.. Students will also attend  a creative arts class (band, chorus, physical education, health, art, Spanish, Spanish for Native Speakers, French, Navigator, or reading academy.) While planning teachers use the Standards of Excellence, Instructional Guidelines, and curriculum guides,  Content Standard Indicators, and the Voluntary State Curriculum.

Driving Directions to

New Carrollton, MD

From 495 Take Exit 20B towards Bladensburg. Take a Right onto 85th Avenue, where you will have to move to a right turn only lane.
