Reading Homework
READING HOMEWORK IS THE MOST IMPORTANT HOMEWORK!
Read at least 15 minutes every night, Monday -Thursday. Write the name of the book you read, the author and the date in your Reading Log. The Reading Log is the black and white marble composition notebook that is required on the school supply list.
Students must read their reading group books at least three times a night to become fluent readers - to be able to read smoothly and with expression. The reading group books are sent home in a large plastic baggy that has your child's name on the baggy. Please return these books every day because we use them in reading groups.
Students may also borrow books from our classroom library and list these books in their Reading Log.

Math Homework
Math homework worksheets are in your child's Homework Folder. Usually just one, but sometimes two, worksheets are sent home Monday-Thursday nights. Occasionally, math worksheets are sent home for weekend homework. Please have your child return the homework in the folder because we check the homework together in class.

Science and Social Studies Homework
Any science or social studies homework would be a worksheet, which should also come home in your child's homework folder. The science and social studies homework is collected for grading. Science and social studies homework is not as frequent as the math homework.

Thank you for helping your child practice their skills in their homework!
