School Goals

  1. Our school will have a safe and orderly environment throughout the campus, including classrooms, hallways, parking lot and other exterior areas, due to increase in security personnel, who are pro-active in their duties.
  2. All students will improve their reading ability by the end of each semester, based on reading assessments given to students at the beginning and end of each semester. The SRI (Scholastic Reading Inventory) will be given to those students below grade level with a follow-up plan for improvement.
  3. Students will learn more effectively through more rigor in each classroom. The subject matter will not be watered down, but every student will be given the opportunity to improve their grades each quarter.
  4. We will increase the number of students in the Honor Roll each quarter by at least 5% through honor roll assemblies, more parental involvement (conferences and phone calls)
  5. Student success will increase each quarter in the core classes (HAS classes in particular) by making time available for students to have daily opportunities before classes.
  6. We will increase the number of students achieving at high levels in the core classes through focus on achievement awards which will increase the number of A’s, B’s, C’s by all students each quarter.
  7. We will increase overall parent and community involvement by:
    • inviting parents to come into the building to sit in on classes
    • parent conferences and phone calls regarding attendance, academic work and discipline
    • Back to School Night Programs 1st & 2nd semester
    • Honor Roll Assemblies each quarter

    1. American  Education Week, Awards Assemblies, Senior Parent Night
    2. Students in danger of failing will receive a letter of notification at the end of 1st and 3rd quarters
    1. We will increase the numbers f students receiving a passing grade each quarter while lowering the failure rate each quarter.
A needs assessment will be given to students in all classes during the first semester to determine the overall level of ability and to adjust instruction to meet students needs, in order that all students will be successful
