COMER SDP

COUNTY-WIDE STEERING COMMITTEE

As a component of the systemic school improvement plan started in 1985, this 250-member committee is comprised of at least one staff member and one parent/community member from every Comer SDP school.

The group meets six times a year to:

  • provide a format for school representatives to interact/network with one another and share concerns and best practices in school improvement.
  • provide development, coordination, implementation and assessment of activities that affect all SDP schools (Annual SDP Retreat, speakers, Dr. Comer's visits, fairs, etc.).
  • make recommendations to improve SDP implementation efforts
  • keep schools apprised of information regarding the Annual SDP Retreat and other Comer SDP/training opportunities.
