School's Mission:

The Mission of District Heights Elementary School is to ensure that all students acquire information and skills and the ability to apply their knowledge to become life-long learners and productive citizens in a diverse society.

The mission is best accomplished through a structure of child centered learning communities characterized by: equity and access to a quality education that includes strong instructional leadership; high expectations for academic achievement; a rigorous curriculum; monitoring of student performance; extended learning opportunities for students failing to meet academic standards; certified teachers in all classrooms; enhanced resources; families empowered to assist in improving a quality education for every child; a school climate conducive to building positive relationships; and a safe, orderly environment.

The Prince George’s County Board of Education adopted three new policies during its work session on April 10. These policies were designed to govern high functioning public meetings, ensure responsiveness to constituent concerns, and improve the quality of services provided to the community it serves. Please click here, http://www1.pgcps.org/interior.aspx?id=46506, to view the new policies.
