Students will receive supply
lists from their specific teachers the first and second day
of school. High school students have very different
schedules so it is difficult to provide complete supply
lists ahead of time. Here are a few recommended
supplies for the first day of school:
Personal data drive ("thumb
drive"), at least 1GB in size
ID Pouch to be worn around
the neck (ID chains will be provided as needed.)
Single subject notebook with
clean tear out pages or a small 3 ring binder with college
ruled paper for notes and work the first week of school
Pens (black or
blue and red) and mechanical pencils (or a good supply of
sharpened #2 pencils)
Personal hole punch (one that
inserts into a 3-ring binder)
TI-82 or higher graphing
See-through or mesh book bag
(Solid color book bags are not permitted in class.)
Students taking a foreign
language class should have a personal set of headphones to
utilize our new language computer program.

There are different options
to pay for your child's college education. Many states offer
savings plans, including Maryland. Please view the
College Savings Flyer
to attend information sessions about your options.
In order for your child to
participate in extra curricular programs, including all
sports, he or she must maintain a 2.0 GPA the quarter prior
to the beginning of that sport's season. He/she must
also have a current physical on file. Make sure you have made or make an
appointment for sports physicals, as a student cannot
participate in any sport without one. Coaches can be
contacted directly regarding tryouts. Participation
and Physical forms can be downloaded from the
PGCPS web site.
SAT Question of the Day
