8:00 AM – 3:10 PM  

The Media Center has print and media resources for staff and students. Books, magazines, videos and equipment are available for teaching, research projects and leisure reading. A copier is available with a charge of .20 per page for duplication. Classes, groups and individuals utilize the facility throughout the day.

The Media Center has 3 PCs and 8 MACs for student use. These computers are for word processing, school projects and research assignments. Checking e-mail, participating in chat room discussions, playing games and and using the Internet for personal use is prohibited. Printing documents from the Internet incur a cost of .05 per page. Several on-line databases are available.  World Book Online and the SIRS databases are available and have home access.  See Mrs. Maisel for further information.

9th Graders get introduced to the Media Center

English teachers have been taking their 9th grade classes to the Media Center to get acquainted with where things are and how to use the electronic card catalog to find information books.  To make this presentation of the Media Center exciting they did different activities, including: Scavenger Hunt; Answering Research Questions; A floor map of the library which they had to identify 15 locations.

Black Eyed Susan Book Program

This is a Maryland K12 school library that picks fiction books that are the interest of high school students. Frederick Douglass has participated in this program for four years. This year's nominees are:
