In DuVal High School, the
mathematics curriculum presents
goals in the mathematical
content areas of number &
operations, algebra, geometry,
measurement, data analysis and
probability, processes of
problem solving, reasoning &
proof connections, communication
& representation that are set by
the National Council of Teachers
of Mathematics and the Maryland
Voluntary State Curriculum.
Together, the content and the
processes describe the basic
skills and understandings that
students will need to meet the
goals of No Child Left Behind
and to function effectively in
the twenty-first century.
