The Student Number:
Every student enrolled in a Prince George’s County
Public School since the 1970-1971 school year has been
assigned a unique, 9 digit number, preferably called
the student number. This student number cannot be duplicated
and becomes a permanent identification number for the
pupil until their educational career is terminated,
normally at graduation. Currently all departments access
information on students through their student number.
If a student has more than one number, a great deal
of confusion will result.
The student retains this student number regardless of
how many times he/she transfers within the system, or
goes outside of the Prince George's County system and
returns. If a student enrolls at your school,
and has attended a Prince George's County school in
the past, you can find his/her student number by searching
for it through the IBM system. It is imperative
that a student only has one student number.
Please notify this department immediately if you should
find a student with more than one student number.
Searching for the Existing Student Number:
By entering the last name, sex and birth year, a list
