"BUILDING LEADERS FOR TOMORROW"

The staff at Henry Ferguson works with children in a positive manner to provide a safe and orderly environment conducive to teaching and learning.  The program identifies and rewards leadership qualities in students.  Discipline is viewed as positive at our school.  Our ultimate goal for students is to move from imposed consequences to self -management and student-generated, responsible decision-making.  Parents are encouraged to provide support in this area.  It is extremely important for students to realize that the school and parents are working cooperatively.

SAFETY PATROLS

The fundamental purpose of the safety patrol is to remind students of bus safety rules acquired at home and at school and to see that a safe atmosphere is maintained on our buses.

Fifth grade students are selected as patrols on the basis of leadership qualities, reliability, punctuality, self-discipline, attendance record, courtesy, respect for authority and attitude toward service to others.
