Wellness Center

The FHHS Wellness Center provides services that include health care, mental health counseling, and health education. On-duty professional staff may include a nurse practitioner, physician, social worker, psychiatrist, and dental specialists. The following items are specifically provided by the Wellness Center:

 

Health Care Services:

   Sports Physicals

   Care for minor injuries and illness

   Over-the-counter medications for headache, sore throat, etc.

   Immunizations

   Vision and hearing screening

   Referral to appropriate health care resources

   Lab Testing

   Annual gynecological exams

   Pap smears

   STD testing

   Pregnancy testing and referral

Family planning education, counseling, and referral (contraceptives are NOT dispensed)

Nutritional education and counseling

 Mental Health Services:

   Individual and family counseling

   Group counseling

   Crisis intervention

   Link to community resources

(Mental health issues include depression, abuse, drug and alcohol problems, self-esteem, behavior problems, anger management, sexuality issues, family problems, homeless, etc.)

The services provided at the clinic are confidential unless the student is a risk to himself/ herself or others and/or reports child abuse.

In order to receive the services of the Wellness Center, the student must be registered. Registration forms are available in the Wellness Center, which is located in the Health Room. All students are encouraged to register so that they may utilize the many services available to them through the Wellness Center.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 A.M. – 3:30 P.M. Students are seen by appointment or during walk-in hours from 11:45 A.M. to 1:45 P.M
