Please read the important messages below.

Greenbelt Middle School is a UNIFORM SCHOOL.  It is our belief that the adoption of this mandatory uniform policy will reduce distractions and disruption caused by clothing, make economic disparities between students less obvious, promote student achievement and create an orderly learning environment.  This uniform policy is an important step towards achieving Goal 4 of the Master Plan:  All students will be educated in the learning environments that are safe, drug free and conducive to learning.

School Uniform Policy

Shirts:
white or black Polo or Oxford shirts (long or short sleeved)
Shirts MUST be tucked into pants or skirt
NOT ACCEPTED:  logos and designs on shirts , t-shirts, tank tops, midriffs, transparent or sheer material shirts.

Pants:
khaki (tan) pants worn with a black belt (required)
Pants MUST be worn at the waist.
NOT ACCEPTED:  cargo pants, flared pants, jeans

Skirts:
khaki (tan) pleated or A-line knee length skirts worn with a black belt (required)
Skirts MUST be worn at the waist.
NOT ACCEPTED:  short, spandex, or stretch skirts

Socks/Tights:
Solid black or white socks
Solid black or white tights
NOT ACCEPTED:  colored or designed socks, net pantyhose, or knee-highs

Shoes:
Solid black Tennis Shoes
Black boots (winter)
Laces MUST be tied
Enclosed toe
NOT ACCEPTED:  CROCS, sandals, flip flops, high heels, tennis shoes with different color strips and designs, furry boots, sling backs, mules, or bedroom slippers

Accessories:
Solid black or gray sweatshirt
Post or small hoop (no larger than a quarter) earrings (gold or silver)
NOT ACCEPTED:  sweatshirts with designs and multi-colors, colored jewelry, bracelets, necklaces.

All students should be following the uniform policy as it was voted on by parents and students.
