Highlights
for 2007 Fall Athletics
Cross country
Peter Gentiles made 1st team all county. Boys
received a 1st place trophy at a region cross country relay defeating
#1 team Roosevelt.
Volleyball
Dominique Daniels made the 1st team all county
team.
Lauren Sanders, Minnie Mekonen, Bola Somade made the 2nd team all
county team.
Dominique, Lauren and Minnie were selected for all star county game.
The team placed 2nd in 4A south league; 2nd
place in regionals and played in the regional final against Roosevelt.
Boys Soccer
Kabba Drammeh and Joel Pratt made the 1st team all county
team.
Chad Pardue, William Guitierrez Chris Reber, Kabba Drammeh, Joel Pratt were selected to play in the
county all star game.
The team was 1st place tied with Bladensburg in the 4A south
league and 2nd seed in the regional tournament. Lost in the
semi-final round to the regional champions.
Girls Soccer
Mojie Ogiefo made 1st team all county. Mojie was
also selected to play in county all star game.
The team finished 4th finish in the 4A south league; 4th
seed in the regional tourney, and lost in the semi-final round to the regional
champions.
Football
Blake Lyles and Nnamdi Ohanell were selected to
play in county all star game.
High Point won the first homecoming game in
several years!
Golf
Mr. Peabody was named Coach of the Year; Victoria Fortune
was a state qualifier. This is a first year that High
Point had a young lady qualify for
state in golf.
Cheerleaders
We are now up to 2 full squads for
cheerleading and getting ready for upcoming competitions. They did a great job
and were very respectful this fall thanks to our new coach Patricia Bobbitt.

February News (2008)
Congratulations to the indoor track team this season
finishing 2nd in the region and qualifying
several individuals for the state competition.
Congratulations to the swim team. They will be
competing at the State Swim meet today and this evening at
the University of Maryland swim facility. High Point will be
represented by the entire girls and boys team.
The
basketball teams will be playing in the first round of the
regional playoffs this Friday night (February 29) at High
Point.
Girls
play @ 5:30 and Boys play @ 7:00. Both teams will play
Parkdale.
Congratulations and
good luck to our winter sports. We are proud of
you. A special thank you to our coaches for their
devotion to our teams and to High Point.
A big
thank you to the cheerleaders for devoting their time and
energy to the winter sports.
