Prince George's
Community College offers a sequenced program of basic
skills instruction for adults. Classes are offered to help
students develop skills necessary to pass the GED exam, succeed
in the workplace, and enhance their participation as community
and family members.
Weekday evening
and morning classes are scheduled each Fall, Spring, and
Summer.
- In-person registration is
required.
Call 301-322-0891 for registration dates.
- Registration is usually held in mid-January,
at the end of June, and in early September.
- Students are given a placement
test and enrolled in the appropriate level of classes on
a first-come, first-served basis.
- Class sizes are limited.
- Most classes begin the week
after registration and continue for 60 hours of instruction.
- Regular class attendance is
expected.
- A multimedia/tutoring lab
is available at Bladensburg Instructional Center (BIC) for
enrolled PGCPS Adult Education students to supplement their
classroom instruction and for wait-listed students on a space-available
basis. Wait-listed students placed at the GED level have
priority.
- Students must be over 16 years
of age and not enrolled in a regular high school program.
- Students must adhere to the
PGCPS Adult Education Code of Conduct.
Please note: Classes fill quickly!
To ensure enrollment, plan to arrive early on the first day
of registration. You can register only on the days and times
indicated for each semester. No registrations or reservations
will be taken prior to the posted dates and times.
All new students will be scheduled to take a placement test
before they can be enrolled in class. Placement tests are usually
given at the time of registration and take at least one hour
to complete.
You must register at the location where you wish to attend classes!
