PLEASE CALL 301-445-8460 FOR AN APPOINTMENT BEFORE
BRINGING YOUR CHILDREN FOR REGISTRATION. COUNSELORS MAY NOT BE
AVAILABLE EVERY DAY.
In order to register a student in the Prince George's
County Public Schools, the following is needed:
1. Proof of Residency:
-
A house contract, deed, settlement papers,
mortgage statement, lease agreement, or resident manager's
letter is acceptable. If the family is living in the
residence of a friend or relative, the homeowner must provide
a notarized statement regarding the fact, in addition
to one of the documents named above. Schools may require
additional documentation at a later date.
2. Proof of Birth:

Birth certificate
-
Students must be accompanied by the person
with whom they live, either a parent or court appointed guardian/legal
custodian. Please bring parent/guardian identification.

Information about legal custody/guardianship may be obtained
from the Family Court (301-780-8000) or Register of Wills (301-952-3250) in Upper Marlboro.
3. Evidence of Up-to-Date Immunizations:
-
Maryland law requires every student to be fully
immunized before entering school. Complete dates (day,
month, and year) for every dose is required.

The Prince George's County Health Department
provides free immunizations. Call 301-583-3300 for
times and locations of clinics.
4. Documentation of Previous Educational
Program:
-
School records/original transcripts in the
native language and official translations are required for
high school students.

School records for elementary and middle school
students should be presented, if available.
