The
end of
the 3rd quarter
occurred on March 28th and the 3rd quarter
incentive day
activities for our students are scheduled for
April
5th before Spring
Break. An
honor
roll assembly to
recognize those honor roll students is also planned for
April
4th.
There have been several
field
trips
this year, please make sure you check your child’s
book bag to return permission forms, etc. in time for your child to
be afforded the opportunity to participate. We appreciate the many
parents who volunteer to help chaperone our children in these
wonderful opportunities to extend the classroom. Please make sure
if you are a parent volunteer that you review the fingerprinting
requirements in this newsletter.
Spring Break
is scheduled
for April 6-13, 2007. Please enjoy the time with your children so
that they are well rested and prepared to complete the end of the
year.
Parents please be mindful that
teachers
begin instruction at 9am
and that
impromptu conferences interrupt the morning schedule as students
lose precious minutes of instruction. Please call to schedule a
conference with your teacher during their planning time.
It is extremely important that
parents
continue to check
backpacks
for
important information,
teacher-web websites, and agenda books to insure that all students
are completing assignments and important documentation is being
returned to the school in a timely fashion. We still have a fourth
of the school year’s worth of content standards and objectives to
complete to prepare our students for the next grade. We must have a
partnership between home and school to afford our students with
every opportunity to succeed.
Mrs. Henninger, Assistant Principal

We are
looking for parent chaperones for a Middle School lock-in that will
be held in June. If you would like to volunteer, please contact
Mrs. Reynolds-Lawson by email at Reynolds@pgpcs.org
Kudos to the Middle School once again for having a low incidence of
discipline issues. Keep up the great work!
The Middle School teachers have noticed a significant rise in the
number of late assignments (homework and projects) received from
students. Please be mindful that late work will not be accepted for
a grade, and will result in the student receiving a “zero”.
All conferences with the Middle School teachers are done on a group
basis. Conferences with individual teachers are not held.
Conferences are scheduled on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
from 8:35a.m. until 8:55a.m. If you would like to schedule a
conference with your child’s teachers, please contact the teacher in
question.
All students should refrain from wearing heavy jackets, carrying
backpacks, and using cell phones during the school day. For the
sake of school-wide safety, heavy jackets and backpacks will not be
allowed. Cell phone usage will not be allowed under any
circumstances.
