Dear
Parents,
There are several
articles in this newsletter about the state testing which will be taking
place in March. Although we are stressing test preparation right now, you
need to know that children are successful in school BECAUSE THEY WORK
EVERY DAY! As parents it is your job to ensure that homework is done every
day, and that you have reviewed it to know whether your child understands
it.
On the last report card,
the teacher may have indicated that there is a possibility that your child
may be retained in the current grade. If that was indicated, then it is
especially important for you to meet with the teacher and discuss what
steps you can take to help your child make the progress he/she needs to
make. Some children are completely self- motivated, but most children need
guidance and direction from the adults in their lives. They need YOU to
show them that school is important by turning off the television and
making sure they read every night.
Every child in
elementary school now will have to pass state tests in order to graduate.
Our children need to start preparing now so that they will be able to
graduate from
high school
as well as
college . Please help them by providing the direction and support they
need every day.
