Dear Parents,

Below you will find our Media Center’s check out policies for library materials.

Kindergarten students- may check out 1 book for classroom use only.

Grades 1 and 2 may check out 2 materials at a time.

Grades 3-6 may check out 3 materials at a time.

Students may keep books for two weeks; however, they are encouraged to return the books to the media center when they are finished.

We do not charge fines for overdue books; however, students must return an overdue book before additional books may be checked out. Students who lose or damage books beyond repair will be charged the replacement cost of the book.

According to Prince George’s County Schools Administrative Procedures, no student may be advanced to a higher grade unless the student returns all borrowed books and materials, and/or reimburse the school for lost and damaged materials.  In addition, students who habitually lose books and do not pay for them will be limited to using books only in the media center.

We strive to teach our students to be independent reading consumers. If you notice your child is bringing home materials at an inappropriate high or low level of difficulty, please discuss this with your child.  Please sign below indicating that you understand the policies of the library and that your child has permission to check out books from the library.  Students will not be able to check out books from the library without a signed permission form.

Cordially,

Ms. Anita Creek,

Media Specialist

Apreciados padres,

Cordialmente
