Dear Kenmoor staff; With August 24th fast approaching, it is with great pleasure that I welcome you, as part of our Kenmoor Faculty, to another great school year. A new school year presents opportunities for new beginnings- new classes, new faces, and often new challenges. I hope that the summer months have been great healers, and as we approach the opening day of a new school year, the challenges of last year will seem remote and inconsequential. Newness alone cannot produce transformation. We must be willing to be a part of the rebirth that is possible with each New Year. Starting a new year gives us the opportunity to make new plans, design new strategies, and implement new ideas. As we prepare to embark on this New Year, we are encouraged by the successes we found last year and will continue to work to enhance the opportunities for our students every day. Our School Wide vision and mission will serve to help us support our students to become life long learners, to effectively use technology, to conduct themselves as responsible citizens, to communicate effectively, and use critical thinking skills while displaying their worth and good nature. Our faculty members have been very busy this summer. Some of the teachers have participated in staff development workshops which enabled them to further their expertise in various curriculum areas and refine their classroom skills. Others have spent valuable time previewing instructional materials for use in our educational program. As our students return to school, I encourage each of you to approach this experience with a positive attitude and openness to wonderful opportunities and possibilities that will arise. Our school goal of producing a highly involved and engaged student body is one we want to build upon. I hope you will continue in your efforts to differentiate instruction to meet our students’ needs and to challenge them to reach their full potential. I hope that this summer has been enjoyable for you and your family. We have been busy preparing at school for the New Year. I am delighted to be back and eager to work closely with you in the months ahead. Please enjoy these final days of summer with your families, and we will see you soon to begin our next year at KMS. The new school year begins Monday August 17th for all veteran staff. I look forward to working with you toward a successful and rewarding school year. Let us make 2009-2010 our best year yet! Go Kavaliers! Sincerely,
Maha Fadli Principal
