 Dear  Parents,

The PTSA will hold its first General Meeting of the school year on September 18, 2007 at 7:00pm.  Please note the following dates for the General PTSA Meetings (all meetings start at 7:00pm):

December - No General PTSA Meeting

February 19, 2008

April 15, 2008 - Elections held for any vacant positions

The PTSA Uniform Committee is happy to provide you with the attached information from By Grace Uniform Company, which is one (1) of the chosen vendors to supply uniforms for the 2007-2008 school  year. 
Uniforms will be MANDATORY and we hope this information will assist you in purchasing your son or daughter’s apparel to ensure they are in full compliance at the beginning of the term.  There will be a “zero” tolerance, therefore, it is important to prepare early for the coming school year :

Young Ladies
 

  • Navy Blue Pants (Pants may not be split at the seams; pants must be hemmed, No Capri Pants)

  • Navy Blue Skirt (Worn no shorter than three inches above the knee and finger tip length with arms extended from torso to legs)

  • Solid White Polo Shirt (With or Without the School Logo)

  • Button Down Oxford Blouse

  • All Black Shoes  (All footwear must have enclosed heal and toes)

  • Navy Blue or White Socks, tights, stockings (Hosiery with graphics, stripes, etc., are not permitted)

  • Navy Blue Cardigan Sweater

  • Navy Blue Blazer
     

No excessive jewelry, accessories, fad dressing, headband/head wraps, jackets or sweaters with hoods will be allowed
 

 Young Men
 

  • Navy Blue Pants

  • Solid White Polo Shirt (With or Without the School Logo)

  • Solid White Dress Shirt (Short or Long Sleeved)

  • Solid black shoe or tennis (athletic) shoes (No high tops)

  • Navy Blue Sport Coat (Optional)

  • Navy Blue or white Sweater Vests (Optional)

  • Navy Blue Cardigan Sweater (to be worn during Fall and Winter Months)
     

No excessive jewelry, accessories, fad dressing, hats, jackets or sweaters with hoods will be allowed 
 

Largo High School ID Badges:  All students must wear their LHS ID badges as a part of their uniform on a break away chain, visibly displayed around their neck.   

These styles and fabrics are not permitted: 

  • No stretch, tight, or form-fitting clothing

  • No baggy pants

  • No jeans

  • No denim or corduroy

  • No cargo or painter pants

  • No Dickie work pants

  • No hooded clothing of any type or style

  • No cropped shirts or pants

  • No slippers or flip flops

  • No capris

  • No creative (cut-out holes, rips, drawings, etc.) alternations to any clothing.

  • No sunglasses are to worn inside the building

  • No pinned-up or tied shirts.

 

Dress Policy Violations and Consequences 
 

The following consequences will occur for any student who violates the uniform policy, this includes student identification cards:

  • First Offense:  Parent contact via letter sent home with student

  • Second Offense:  Administrative Detention

  • Third Offense:  One-day suspension from school

  • Fourth Offense and Beyond:  Two days or more suspension from school up to a long-term suspension request.

 

Electronic Devices

Electronic devices (IPods, CD Players, game boys, etc.) should be kept at home at all times. All cell phones must remain OFF (not on vibrate) during the instructional day (once you enter the building until 4:10 p.m.).  Failure to comply with this request will result in your items being confiscated and returned to the parent.

                                            HOW TO JOIN

  • Membership enrollment can be taken at all PTSA-sponsored events and various school activities
  • Complete membership form and place it in the PTSA mailbox (Largo Main Office)
  • Mail the membership form & dues ($10 adults, $6 students) and make check payable to:
