  • Spring Book Fair Great News!
We were able to raise approximately $5,900 during our Spring Book Fair.  Some of the profits were used to purchase books from the teachers' wish lists.  A portion of the remaining profits will be used to purchase instructional resources for teachers and their classrooms!

  • In addition, we had approximately 10 families participate in our Build a Book family night event on April 16th!  Thanks to each parent who shared this special event with their child(ren).  The children enjoyed writing and using creative illustrations to make their own unique books.  They enjoyed the pizza too!

  • A SPECIAL thanks goes to ALL of the Book Fair volunteers:  Sean Boyden, Faye Cobb, Frederica Dyer, Christina Lewis, Michael Ling, Sonia Maclin, Mary Scott, Tara Smith, Karen SpencerTed Yorkshire and Pep Squad members! The Book Fair would not have been a success without their time, commitment and enthusiasm!

  • Message from Mrs. Pica 3-10-08
Parent involvement is an important part of the culture at
Marlton Elementary School.  During these past two weeks, parents have been extremely involved with our students.  Parents supervised students during Jump Rope for Heart; read to classes at the Read Across America celebration; toured the Academic Fair to view their child’s work and examine the work of other grade levels; and enjoyed the friendships of their neighbors and love of their children at Muffins for Mom!  This strong relationship between parents and school affects the learning of your child.  Children appreciate the time parents spend at their school.  They express their thanks by working hard for their parents and teachers to increase their level of achievement.  We thank you for your participation in these activities and for your efforts as we work together for the children.

  • Calling All Book Fair Volunteers! Love books? - Volunteer to help at the upcoming Spring Book Fair. The dates are April 14-18.  There are lots of ways to participate.  And, hours are flexible!  Contact Aricka Hawkins at 301-466-4304 or Kathy Yorkshire at 301-254-1443. You can also email the PTA at marltonpta@yahoo.com.

  • Sally Foster Fundraiser – Thank you to the families that participated in the fundraiser.  We were disappointed to discover only 71 fundraiser envelopes have been returned of the 520 envelopes distributed. This is the only fundraiser offered by the school.  The profit will be used to defray the cost of document cameras for every classroom.  A document camera allows a teacher to place a textbook or worksheet on the stand and display it on the screen for the entire class to see.  A science demonstration can be displayed on the screen for all students to see from their desks.  We bought seven document cameras last year and the teachers and students love them.  Each one costs $470.00.   If you did not participate in the Sally Foster Fundraiser and would prefer to send a personal donation to the school office, we would appreciate your generosity.
