Mr. Wilson's class have planted flowers around the school to improve the scenery. They worked very hard and deserve praise, so whenever you see them, say thank you for making our school beautiful. Caption by L

On April 28 Jackie Joyner-Kersee came to our school, out of the kindness of her heart, to talk to TMMS students. She talked about how everyone should give 110% towards every goal they set. She also talked about her world records. She currently holds the world record for the heptathlon (7 event competition) and the long jump. Everyone had a great time and we would like to thank Jackie Joyner-Kersee for coming to our school. (Caption by Abigail Clark).

Thurgood Marshall Middle School had a red carpet event in which students were nominated by their teachers for awards such as "The Class Shocker" or "The Cool Cucumber." Teachers were also given awards for their hard work and dedication. A special thanks would have to go to Ms. Burney for creating this fabulous event. Great recognition also goes to Ms. Johns (Testing Coordinator) for doing such a great job with all those tests. Overall, this looked like the real deal, red carpet and everything. The Prince Georges County Student Coalition Seminar was hosted by Thurgood Marshall Middle School. The students learned leadership skills such as listening, speaking in public and how to get along with other students. We are all very proud of them (Caption Abigail Clark).

Thurgood Marshall Middle School was honored to have these great people visit our school and tell us about their careers. They were guided by students from class to class and helped students have a better understanding of what really happens in their everyday job. This event was a huge success and it was organized by our very own Ms. Ta’ Kia Hawkins, Ms.  Kezia Dix-Truesdale, Ms. Sarah Chung, and Ms. Ruth Campbell. Caption by L
