Here is an excellent scholarship opportunity for seventh grade students- The Jack Kent Cooke Young Scholars program. New Leaders for New Schools has formed a partnership with the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation. Each year the foundation launches a nationwide search for talented seventh grade students to apply to become a Jack Kent Cooke Scholar. The application is demanding and the criteria extremely selective, but for those who are accepted the benefits are enormous. Click here for Details and Application Guidelines.

The Prince George’s County Board of Education adopted three new policies during its work session on April 10. These policies were designed to govern high functioning public meetings, ensure responsiveness to constituent concerns, and improve the quality of services provided to the community it serves. Thurgood Marshall Middle School is sending out a parent request. We are asking ALL Parents to please donate one to two hours a month of there time to volunteering at the school. First we have the MSA Testing on the following dates and need parent help: April 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 29th and 30th.

Attachment of March calendar and April calendar is included. Please plug-in were available and we will provide breakfast accordingly. I thank you for all that you do to support the school, staff and students. There will also be a sign up sheet in the front office, so if you stop in please remember to take that extra second and sign up to help with one of the following duties: Hall Monitors, Lunchroom Monitors, and Front Office Helpers.
