Position Descriptions

President: The person who assumes this position will be responsible for maintaining open communication with the principal, faculty, PTA Executive Committee and general membership while working to achieve the goals and missions of the Matthew Henson PTA.

Duties include:        Presiding over monthly PTA and Executive Board meetings;

                                    Coordinating the work of PTA officers and committees;

                                    Working to promote school events

Corresponding Secretary:  Once the minutes of each meeting has been taken by the Recording Secretary, it is the responsibility of the Corresponding Secretary to report this information at meetings and to our school community.

Duties include:        Presenting minutes at monthly meetings;

                                    Producing a monthly newsletter to keep parents informed of

                                    school programs and activities;

                                    Notifying the media of reportable school events and

                                    Achievements;

                                    Other duties performed as delegated by President
