Management Office: Functions and Responsibilities
Establish and maintain the Project Management Office
to support the management of major IT projects.
Create a foundation
for consistent IT project success throughout the division,
thereby reducing project cycle times
and costs.
Develop a strong, pervasive Project Management
discipline within the organization’s project teams.
Guide
selected IT projects to a successful conclusion via project
management, monitoring and/or mentoring.
Maintain project
charters, status, and supporting documentation for IT projects.
Support
the development, tracking, and reporting of Balanced Scorecard
metrics within the division.
Apply project portfolio management
(PPM) methodologies to facilitate the selection of IT projects
which best support
strategic objectives and best utilize available resources.
Develop
and implement change management strategies which communicate
and facilitate technological advances in
the school district
Serve as a center-of-excellence, providing
project management consultation and training.
Promote timely
and accurate communication and knowledge transfer between
IT and organizational stakeholders.
