Telecommunications Services: Functions and Responsibilities
We support Prince George’s County Public Schools in the following ways:
  • Providing Account Creation and Management of Email Services
  • Providing Account Creation and Management of Web Services
  • Providing Quality Technology Training
  • Providing User Support through:
    • Direct telephone, email, and fax support to all PGCPS - IT customers
    • First level (front-line) support service and the front door to other customer service groups in the Information Technology Department
    • Desktop computer repair, maintenance, and installation
    • Development of detailed, easy-to-follow, Help Guides and Manuals
      Software, Hardware, and Network troubleshooting
    • System problem tracking and reporting
    • Contractor Services for computers and printers
  • Ensuring that all system personnel have appropriate and easy access to the technological tools and information necessary to achieve the school system’s mission
  • Disseminating technology standards for the school system
  • Supporting all aspects of the Oracle Implementation
  • Providing and maintaining a robust, dependable WAN backbone and LAN infrastructure
