My Mother Loves Me
My hero is my mother because I love her and she loves me. All my life I have had a roof over my head whether I was in an apartment or in a house. Even though I have to share a room I still have one and it is nice. On Sundays, my mom wakes up at four o’clock in the morning and goes to work. She does not come back home until 6:00 pm. She works many hours to get us nice things and allow us to live in a nice apartment
My mother gives me any thing I want. I received four pairs of shoes, all of them in 2 days. One of those two days I also got clothes with it. My mother also bought me a call phone. It was cheap and it is prepaid, but it works well like a regular phone. My cell phone is cool! My mother also got a cell phone for my brother. She got us the phone because even though she can’t be there she wants to be.
I love you mom and I thank you for life.

My Big Hero
My sister Fanta is my hero because it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be a healthy boy. Everything I need, my sister gives me. Fanta feeds me and cares about me. She acts like a mother to me. She took up for me when my other two sisters were making fun of me.
Fanta helps me make right choices in school. When we had a substitute teacher and I didn’t get in trouble all day. My sister helped me make that choice. She makes me make choices she didn’t make.

Mommy The Great
Thanks to my mommy I’m here today. My mommy is not wonder woman or cat woman but she’s my hero. She takes care of me. She always cheers me up when I’m down. For example when I’m sad she finds a way to make me smile by doing something funny. If she can’t solve the problem she talks to me about it. After that I feel much better about what happened.
She also feeds me. Sometimes she gives me a choice sometimes she won’t. I know she’s not doing that to make me mad but to keep me alive. We never stay mad at each other for long. That’s why our love is strong.
My mommy is very fun to be with. She is fun because she takes me fun places with her. My mommy is like my big friend. She also helps me out. When I’m hurt or cut she makes me feel better. Sometimes she acts like a big kid when she acts silly like me. I love her. She’s the best and like no other. She’s my hero; she’s my mother.

My Best Grandma and Me
My amazing hero is my grandma. My grandma really loves me because before bedtime she gives me a kiss.
My favorite cake is lemon cake. Every Sunday she makes me a lemon cake. My grandma doesn’t get mad when I eat all the cake. When I get home she has extra cake put away just for me. She gives me some in my lunch and makes it for my birthday every year.
In the morning, my grandma does my hair for school. She also sends me to school with nice clothes. This is important to me because some children’s mother do not comb their hair and sends them to school with nice clothes. My grandma watches over me because when my sister is mean to me, my grandma says stop. This is why my grandma is my hero.
My grandma takes care of me also my giving me medicine when I am sick. She is there for me through good and bad times. She caters to me. My grandma helps me with my homework and we go shopping together.

My hero is my Daddy. He is my hero because he looks after me by being a great father. Also when I put my head down he tells me to keep my head up. It makes me feel encouraged.
When I feel bad, my dad finds the nicest ways to cheer me up. When I do something wrong, my daddy helps me fix it. I will always love my dad with all my heart.
My dad has driving skills, but I like when he drives fast. However, my dad does not crash because he knows my life is in his hands so he drives slowly so that we don’t get hurt because he loves me very much. My dad loves to be with me. My G-Mom
Thanks to my Grandmother, G-Mom, I’m here today. My G-Mom is my hero, but not the type who saves the world. My G-Mom spoils me very much. She gives me what I want. For example, she bought me a phone. When I run up my minutes she doesn’t get mad and buys more. Also she buys games and ring tones for my phone. Another way my G-Mom she spoils me is she buys me a phone card to get more minutes on my phone. Whenever I run out of minutes, I just get more. Also I am about to get Sponge Bob phone cover on my cell phone.
My G-Mom is always there for me. She provides me with what I need. For example, she buys me medicine when I’m sick. For my birthday she makes me a cake instead of buying one, and this saves her money. My G-Mom takes care of my sisters, my brothers, and me. And she also prepares us for different seasons in the year. For example, in the summer we get summer clothes. And in the winter we go and get our North Face coats.

5TH GRADE POEMS
Using technology as a tool of Language Arts, Morningside 5th grade students composed poems with Microsoft Word and used graphics from Microsoft Clips Online. From the 4th quarter Reading Curriculum Framework (PGCPS), the Theme/Reading Selection is "Falcon/Goodbye, Falcon."
Student poems are as follows:
Falcon,
Falcon, Falcon
The
falcon looked warily
as everyone
walked passed.
The man knew it would not last,
as its powerful
wings clashed.
The falcon was in
captivity,
but it wanted
liberty.
living in a cage,
the falcon could not endure.
*********************
FALCON`S LIBERTY
Living in a cage.
As the people were doing an activity.
The falcon felt captivity.
The
people loved to see the falcon
Come
down to its owner to pick up a piece of meat to eat.
When the falcon left him
The falcon said goodbye.

********************
The life of a falcon
Some falcons are in captivity,
Some falcons have liberty.
Most falcons live high in trees
And they make their houses out of leaves.
When falcons fly high in the air
You can hear them loud and clear.
**********
Falcons of the Wild
Falcons are fast birds.
Sometimes like elephant herds.
Falcons are very quick.
You won’t see them in a click.
Falcons are very big.
Sometimes they take off my wig.
Falcons are very smart.
You won’t see them in the dark.

*****************************
Falcon’s
Freedom
The
falcon wanted liberty, but it was
in captivity.
The
falcon could not endure with the cage.
The
falcon was so sad and he was getting
mad.
So
the owner set the falcon
free.

**********
My Falcon Dream
One night in my dream
I
saw a falcon soaring high .
It was rainbow colored.
Then a strange thing happened.
The falcon talked to me.
It said, “ Hi” !
**********
Falcon’s Freedom
The falcon’s wings clashed because he wanted liberty.
The falcon wanted liberty but not captivity.
The falcon was warily to have captivity.

I Love Beautiful Spring
When frozen cornstalks crumble into
Brown fields and sleep
They dream of awakening to spring
Nudged aside by new plants
Bringing joy to the land and bees
Spring is fun, you play in
The sun, run in the fields
With pretty daffodils, spring is
Great it’s really top rate and
I love beautiful spring!

**********
IT’S TIME 4 SPRING
The sky is blue the sun is bright,
Everything around is growing with might.
When the wind’s cool air breezes through
My hair, all I feel is pleased.
The insects the plants Spring is truly here,
Now it’s time to cheer!
**********
The Falcon
It needs more activity .
Let`s give him his liberty
And free him from captivity.
It has such large wings
It can do many things
He is speckled with black
When I let him go he will come back.
