Northwestern High School Career Center

Located in C Building Room C116

Hours of Operation
Monday- Friday (Closed on Tuesdays)
Open to students during their Lunch 2nd period 11:30-1:30
Outside of Open hours students will need a pass

The Career Center is an informational stop for all students at Northwestern High School.  Students can find information on Colleges & Universities; Employment; Community Service; College Admission Testing (SAT or ACT); Career Schools; United States Armed Forces and Academies; Financial Aid; Scholarships; SAT Prep Courses/Workshops; College Tours; Tutoring and programs offered through-out the county.

The Career Center is staffed by the Counseling Department Chair, Yvette M. Wright.  Students can get assistance on researching & finding a college, university or technical or career schools; employment; resume writing; financial aid assistance; scholarship searches; the college application process; career exploration assessments and community service projects.

Student have internet access in the Career Center and can complete on-line applications; financial aid; type and print assignments; register on-line for College Admission tests; print out college applications and information related to careers or post-secondary education programs.   

The Career Center is open to ALL students’ not just seniors.  There is a plethora of information for grades 9-11. 

Through out the school year the Career Center has College & Universities visiting the school; there will career speakers coming into the school either in the Career Center or through classes.  The US Armed Forces recruiters can set up appointments to see students in the Career Center as well as out of state college that require an interview can schedule the Career Center to hold the interviews.

It is recommended that students come to the Career Center at least once or twice a week to see what is happening within the school and community. 

Parents are also welcomed into the Career Center to pick up any information or ask questions.
