Globe Club

The Globe Club is a wonderful and exciting club.  The sponsor of this club is Mr. Witko. The purpose of the club is to study soils, wildlife, aquatic forestry, and a 5th issue that changes. Globe stands for Globe Learning Observation By Studying the Environment.

The president is Aisha Evans who directs meetings, constructs meeting agenda, and meets with administrators. The Globe Club competes in the Environthon every year (High School Environmental competition). In 2005, Oxon Hill was the runner-up in this competition held
at Camp Schimdt. In the environthon, the club is given problems to solve which deal with the environment such as global warming, climatic changes, and acid rain.

The Globe Club also collects paper from around the school to recycle. In April of 2008, the Globe Club will be hosting a school yard clean-up.
