Panorama’s Bus Discipline Plan

Panorama’s Philosophy

    ·        We believe that all students are capable of exhibiting good, safe behavior while riding the bus.

    ·        We believe that parents and school personnel are committed to working together in order to provide
transportation in a safe, orderly environment.

    ·        We believe that any inappropriate behavior that affects the rights of other bus riders will be grounds for
              immediate removal from the bus.

Panorama’s Bus Rules

    1. Follow the directions of the driver or their representative.

    2. Remain seated in the appropriate manner. Leave the aisles clear.

    3. Keep your hands, feet, personal belongings and other objects to yourself and inside the bus.

    4. Pushing, shoving, cutting in front of others, etc. are considered inappropriate behavior.  Fighting will not be
tolerated and result in immediate removal from the bus.

    5. Eating and drinking are not permitted.

    6. Use positive and socially acceptable language.

    7. The noise level must always remain at a low level so the driver is able to hear at  all times.
Radios and compact disc players are not allowed.

    8. Inappropriate behavior that affects the rights of others will be grounds for immediate removal from the bus.

 Panorama’s Consequences

·
If a student chooses to break these rules, the driver will issue a verbal warning to the student.

    ·
If the inappropriate behavior continues, the driver will complete a behavior referral form to document
the inappropriate behavior and submit it to an administrator.

            First Behavior Referral

The student will bring home a copy of the referral. This serves as notification to parents that a subsequent referral will result in temporary removal from the bus. The student must have the referral form signed by parents and return it to an administrator the next day.  The student will be assigned to a seat in close proximity to the driver. This seat assignment will be permanent for the remainder of the school year. In the event that a student has to be temporarily suspended from riding the bus, parents are responsible for providing transportation to and from school during the suspension for both morning and afternoon buses.

 Second Bus Referral

The student will bring home a letter and the bus referral notifying parents of the bus suspension. The student will be temporarily suspended from the bus for three days. This suspension is for both morning and afternoon buses. Parents will be responsible for providing transportation to and from school.

Parent Information

v
Should you need to bring your child to school at any time, the student should not arrive before 8:00 a.m.
Supervision will not be available until that time.

    v
Students should not be dropped off in the circular driveways under any circumstances between 7:45 and 8:45
a.m.  and between 1:45 and 2:45 p.m. It is imperative that we keep our bus lanes, the circular driveways
clear during these times. We want to continue to maintain a safe and orderly environment at all times.

    v
If your child should not get on the bus in the afternoon for any reason and needs to be picked up by
someone other than yourself, written notification is required in order to release your child to that individual.
The telephone numbers for contacting this person must be included in written request in the event that it
becomes necessary to contact that individual. Please inform that individual that he or she will be required to
show proof of identity before the child will be released in their care.

Please post these rules on the refrigerator or in an area where they can be seen and reviewed periodically.
