Principal's Message

April 2008

 Dear Parents and Friends:

The time has arrived for our Maryland School Assessment (MSA)!  “I know that our students and staff have worked very hard this year and we are READY!”  Please remind your students of the tips presented in the April issue of Home & School Connection.

  Hints for taking standardized tests:

·       Multiple choice: Real all the answers before marking your choice. Remember, your first instinct is usually best – so don’t change your answers unless you’re sure.

 ·       True/false: Look for words such as never, always, all and none. They’re usually in false answers.
Words like may or often are generally found in true answers.

·       Selected Responses: Make a list of important thoughts, or key points about each question before writing your response. Read through your finished responses to be sure that you have included your key points.

Let’s continue to make school a priority by making attendance a top priority. Let your children know that they must go to school unless they are sick. Talk about their school activities and projects. Attend as many school events as you can. Help your children to keep a positive attitude about their job at school!

“Hand in hand. TOGETHER WE CAN!”
