Thanksgiving Pumpkin Muffins

We learned about the colonists and the first Thanksgiving. For our own celebration, we made pumpkin muffins and butter. Learning about following a recipe and measuring ingredients was fun, and delicious! Here is the recipe so you can make them, too.

Pumpkin Muffins Recipe

use 1 can pumpkin...

Start with one can of pumpkin.

add eggs...

Add eggs.

add oil...

Measure the oil carefully!

stir...

Stir the ingredients.

add sugar...

Add sugar.

flour...

Add flour.

spices...

Spices will make the muffins
smell and taste good.

add the final ingredients...

The final ingredients are added.

stir well...

Stir well, one more time.

fill the muffin tin...

Fill each muffin cup with batter.

place in oven (ask an adult)

Put the muffin tins into the oven and bake.
(Ask an adult to help with this step.)

put cream in jarshake!and shake!

While we wait, we make fresh butter.
All it takes is cream, a jar, and LOTS of shaking!

take muffins out of the oven--smells SO GOOD!

The muffins are finally done baking.
They smell SO good!

a fine feast - YUM!

Now we enjoy our feast: warm muffins with fresh homemade butter.
And we proudly wear the pilgrim hats and bonnets that we made.
This was a VERY special Thanksgiving celebration!
