Clue Into Reading
Summer is the perfect time to explore the wonderful world of books and reading. In partnership, the Prince George’s County Public Schools and the Prince George’s County Memorial Library System created the recommended summer reading lists that follow.

Choose something appealing and that interests you. Find a book that is fun to read. All of the titles are available at the public library and were selected with a variety of interests and reading levels in mind.

Parents should not only encourage their children to read on their own, in order to reinforce learning from the school year that has just ended, but should also choose books to read aloud at home. Many of the books on the list are available in recorded book format (either on tape or compact disc). Children can improve their comprehension skills by reading along with a recorded book, and recorded books provide great family entertainment in the car.
