Rosa Parks Discover Club The Rosa Parks Discover Club is an after-school enrichment program designed to interest students in the arts and sciences. Activities include field trips, nature walks, art, playing chess, surfing the Internet, and writing articles for publication in the Scholastic Journal. Discover Club meets Thursdays from 2:30 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. in the art room. Members must provide their own transportation home. A one-time snack fee of $20.00 is due by the second meeting. Currently there are 15 members in the club. Members are selected in the fall after completing an application. To be considered for membership, a student must: 1.) be in third, fourth, fifth or sixth grade at Rosa Parks; 2.) complete an application; 3.) be recommended by a teacher; 4.) explain in writing how he or she will get home after sessions; 5.) answer an essay question; 6.) provide a parent's signature giving permission to attend sessions.
