NorthBay

For the third spring in a row sixth graders from Rosa Parks attended NorthBay, an environmental education center located on the Elk Neck Peninsula in Maryland, at the northern end of the Chesapeake Bay.

Comprised of 97 acres with a mile of beachfront, NorthBay operates through a partnership with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and the Erickson Foundation of Baltimore. Curriculum reflects a hands-on, outdoor classroom approach with activities including kayaking, indoor and outdoor wall climbing, hiking, swimming, seine fishing, clamming, and mastering a zip line and ropes course. The $33 million state-of-the-art facility serves over 350 Maryland students weekly.
