The purpose of the environmental education program in Prince George's County is to enable students to
make decisions and take actions that create and maintain an optimal relationship between themselves and the
environment, and to preserve and protect the unique natural resources of Maryland, particularly those of
the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed. (Environmental Education Bylaw 13A.04.17.03)

It is our mission that every student's visit contain a meaningful Chesapeake Bay Watershed experience.

"In the end, we will conserve only what we love.  We will love only what we understand.  We will understand
only what we are taught."

Baba Dioum,
Environmentalist and Forestry Engineer
