Epitomizing the adage "experience is the best teacher," the
center focuses on reinforcing the basic skills learned in
the classroom as well as providing "real life" opportunities
for students to study the natural environment.
Owned and operated by Prince George's County Public Schools,
the 450 acre site is located on Route 381 about 9 miles
southeast of Brandywine, Maryland.
The center provides direct performance based instruction
that reflects the outcomes and indicators put forth in the
Maryland Content Standards. In addition, the center
addresses the goals and objectives of the Maryland State
Department of Education Environmental Education Bylaw
(13A.04.17.01-04; Annotated Code of Maryland).
